for professional installation. We have made arrangements
with Mr. Handyman of Canada to provide PEARL customers
with flat rate installation rates. Mr. Handyman
operators are all fully insured, bonded, and provide a
comprehensive guarantee and located in Ontario and B.C.

What if I Want To Do
It Myself?
Review the

to see if you want to perform the
installation without professional assistance. Each step
is covered in detail, from preparation
of the area, to the required tools and actual
installation. For the average installation, you can
anticipate approximately 1½ to 2 hours of time. Please

Here are some common
obstacles to be aware of:
- The presence of electrical,
coaxial or cable TV wires.
- HVAC ductwork in the wall space
beneath the window.
- You may have to move or install
new jack studs to aesthetically center the unit
beneath the window.
- If there is not enough sheetrock
beneath the window, you will need to cut into the
molding to customize the fit.
Installation generally does not
require any major changes to the
structure of your wall.
If you, however, want it centered
under the window, you will likely have to move the jack
studs.
What's a jack stud, you ask? Jack
studs are the 2 x 4s under your window sash. It connects
the window support (sill track) to the floor track.
While this is not complicated for a professional
carpenter, it's likely out of the scope of the typical
weekend do-it-yourselfer.
To ensure proper
stability in this type of installation, we strongly
encourage you to use professional installation.
